Understanding Your Space
Joinery and interior fit-out are closely connected, but they are not the same thing.
Joinery focuses mainly on the custom-made interior elements that are fabricated to suit a particular space. This can include wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, reception counters, doors, wall panelling, storage units, TV units, office furniture and other fitted woodwork.
Interior fit-out is broader. It refers to preparing and completing the interior of a property so that the space becomes functional and ready for use. Depending on the project scope, this can involve partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, lighting coordination, joinery, and final finishing.
Custom joinery can cover almost any fixed or fitted wooden element designed specifically for a particular residential or commercial interior.
Accurate measurement and professional workshop fabrication based in Mussafah M32, creating everything from bookshelves to custom shelving.
Designed around actual room layouts instead of standard dimensions, ensuring every centimetre of your kitchen space is used effectively.
Media walls with concealed cable routes, equipment storage, and carefully positioned lighting integrated seamlessly into the design.
Walk-in wardrobe cabinetry, bedroom storage, shoe storage, headboards, and custom wooden doors suited for villas and apartments.
Workstations, meeting-room furniture, executive offices, filing cabinets, functional storage, and cable management for professional spaces.
Professional reception backdrops, branded interior backgrounds, retail counters, and shop displays that look professional and work practically.
A fitted wardrobe, reception counter or kitchen cabinet does not exist in isolation. Its final dimensions can depend on finished wall dimensions, floor levels, ceiling height, skirting, electrical points, air-conditioning locations, and plumbing points.
That is why good joinery is not simply about cutting boards and assembling cabinets. It is about making the finished element fit the actual interior. Custom joinery makes more sense when:
There is no single “best” board. Common options include MDF (painted cabinetry), Moisture-resistant MDF, Marine plywood, Veneer, Laminate, and Solid wood. Material choice depends on location, expected use, moisture exposure, required finish, budget, and design.
Recommendation: A beautiful sample can still be the wrong specification for a heavily used cabinet, humid area or demanding commercial environment. Always match the specification to intended use.
It can. The UAE has a desert climate with hot and humid summer conditions. Coastal environments mean that materials need to be considered in the context of heat, humidity, and air-conditioning. This doesn't mean every wooden product fails, but specification matters.
Recommendation: Kitchens and bathroom-adjacent cabinetry need moisture consideration. High-use commercial cabinetry needs durable surfaces. Dark glossy finishes show dust more easily.
A problem at one stage can affect the next. Keeping the process organised helps maintain consistency between what was agreed and what is eventually installed.
Existing walls, floors, ceiling heights, and relevant services are checked on-site.
Joinery is designed around the space, and materials and finishes are selected.
Approved components are manufactured in our Mussafah workshop.
Joinery is installed, adjusted to site conditions, and final checks are performed.
This is one of the most important questions to ask before approving a project. Do not compare two quotations only by the final AED figure. Compare the scope.
Suppose Company A quotes AED 40,000 and Company B quotes AED 32,000. The lower number does not automatically mean better value. Before choosing, compare:
Material → thickness → finish → hardware → quantity → design → fabrication → delivery → installation → site work → exclusions → after-installation support. A quotation that excludes important items may look cheaper initially and become more expensive after variations.
